Aoki vs. Folayang, Gafurov vs.Jadamba 2 are set on November 11 at One Championship – Defending Honor!

one-championship

Singapore-based mixed martial arts organization is set to feature two intriguing championship fights on November 11, 2016 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

CEO of ONE Championship, Victor Cui, stated: “2016 has been an amazing year for ONE Championship. After meeting with the biggest names in the industry at the Asia MMA Summit, we are proud to announce a spectacular fight card set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium this November. We are going in with two world title fights that will set the ONE Championship cage ablaze with world-class MMA action and excitement, along with a series of really solid supporting bouts.”

Headlining the said card is a duel between Japanese MMA superstar, the current One Championship Lightweight king, Shinya Aoki, and top Filipino 155 pounder in Eduard Folayang.

Aoki is no stranger to MMA fans around the world. The Shizuoka native is known for his grappling prowess and colorful character inside and outside the cage.

“Tobikan Judan” has not been beaten since October of 2012 and has only gone the distance twice in his One Championship career. He is riding a nine-fight winning streak including his first-round RNC win against former UFC fighter Kamal Shalorus and a unanimous decision victory over former Legend Fighting Championship’s Lightweight champion Koji Ando.

After defeating Ando to become the One Championship lightweight champion last May 2015, Aoki then submitted the legendary Japanese MMA icon Kazushi Sakuraba at Rizin Fighting Federation last December 2015.

On November 11, Aoki will defend his title for the first time against the highly-talented Filipino fighter in Eduard Folayang.

Team Lakay’s Folayang has been in the business for nine years and it seems like he is not done yet; not until he becomes the One Championship 155 lbs. title holder.

The Baguio-based Wushu Sanshou champion and the former URCC Welterweight king has been through ups and downs on his One Championship career.  He is 6-3 inside the One Championship cage with remarkable wins over Felipe Enomoto, Vincent Latoel, Kotetsu Boku, and Adrian Pang.

The former high school teacher is preparing himself for the biggest fight of his career so far in Aoki.

Folayang’s striking abilities has been the key for his recent wins, but he is that type of fighter who works hard every day to improve other aspects of his game. He does not slow down and he makes sure that fans will see a much-improved fighter every time he steps inside the cage.

“The Landslide” proved in his recent fights that he has upgraded his game, especially when it comes to the wrestling department which in the past years has been the biggest hole in his game.

Can Folayang stop Aoki’s win streak? Or will the Japanese continues to dominate everyone in his division?  Questions will be answered on November 11 when these two great athletes lock horns inside the One Championship cage.

Another championship fight is going down in Singapore on November 11 as Russian submission phenom Marat “Cobra” Gafurov takes on a familiar foe in Jadamba Narantungalag for the second time around.

Gafurov and Narantungalag first meeting was in November of 2015 when the Russian was the challenger. It was a back-and-forth action between the two warriors until Gafurov saw an opportunity to make the Mongolian tap in the fourth round by way of rear-naked-choke.

Since losing his title to Gafurov in November 2015, Narantungalag piled up two impressive wins against Kotetsu Boku and Eric Kelly which gave him the ticket to face the current champion next month in Singapore.

Two fighters will try to get back on the winning track as Adrian “The Hunter” Pang meets Eddie “The Magician” Ng in a fireworks-guaranteed lightweight fight.

Here is the partial fight card for One Championship: Defending Honor

Lightweight Championship: Shinya Aoki vs. Eduard Folayang

Featherweight Championship: Marat Gafurov vs. Jadamba Narantungalag

Eddie Ng vs. Adrian Pang

Timofey Natsyukhin vs. Kotetsu Boku

Samir Mrabet vs. Amir Khan

Mona Samir vs. Michelle Nicolini

Evolve MMA’s Video Blog Leading To One FC ‘Kings and Champions’

Asia’s #1 ranked professional fight team, is set to compete on ONE Fighting Championship, Asia’s largest MMA organization, on April 5, 2013 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This video goes behind the scenes of the training camp for the Evolve Fight Team. Shinya Aoki, Eddie Ng, Leandro Issa, Jake Butler, and Alex Silva will be heading into the biggest fights of their careers.

One FC 8 – ‘Kings & Champions’ Trailer

aoki vs boku

One FC ‘Kings & Champions’ is set on April 5th, 2013 at Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore as Kotetsu “No Face” Boku, a fighter who knocks out Zoro Moreira at One FC 6, will defend his lightweight title against a submission monster, and a team mate of Moreira, Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki.

Aoki’s last fight shows that he is more than ready to face Boku for the One FC lightweight title when he stopped Antonio Mckee in the second round via strikes at Dream 18.

Meanwhile, Boku stated in an interview that he’ll fight anyone and he ain’t scared of Aoki and he is ready to defend his lightweight title against a fellow Japanese fighter.

Aside from the lightweight championship bout between Boku and Aoki, another explosive lightweights will try to bring themselves closer to the title contention as the very entertaining and exciting fighter from France, Arnaud “The Game” Lepont, battles super heavy-handed Eddie “The Magician” Ng.

ONE FC 4: June 23, 2012 will be an unforgettable day for Asian MMA!

One Fighting Championship continues its Asian domination in the world of Mixed Martial Arts as it stroms into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with ONE FC 4: Destiny of Warriors.

The largest MMA promotion in Asia just announced some massive and exciting match ups that will definitely rock Asian MMA scene for their June 23rd event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The long wait is over for some mma fans around the world that are eager to see the former UFC light heavyweight contender, Renato “Babalu” Sobral compete inside the One FC cage. Babalu will finally make his One FC debut against a very agile Japanese mma icon, Tatsuya Mizuno. Babalu vs. Mizuno will serve as the main event fight of the evening.

It’s been almost two years since Babalu tasted his last defeat in the hands of the heavy-handed mma legend, Dan Henderson at Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu 2 via first round KO. Now he is back to prove that he still have the will and skill to be a Mixed Martial Arts champion.

Standing in Babalu’s way will be the ever dangerous Tatsuya Mizuno. Mizuno has a nice stand-up game with excellent takedown defense. He has the ability to submit his opponents; majority of his victories came by submission.

Both fighters are well versed in every aspect of the fight game, have a lot of heart and will be in the best condition of their lives. With that being said, the more polished and accomplished fighter is no doubt Babalu and that will show during this fight. Babalu has fought the biggest of fights under the brightest of lights; I can’t say the same for Tatsuya Mizuno. This will no doubt be an exciting fight as both fighters are looking for a big KO or Submission win to impress their fans.

Speaking of an exciting fight, another jaw-dropping match up between Masakazu Imanari and Leandro Issa has been announced as the co-main event of the evening. This is a very interesting match up between the two of the most dangerous submission gods in Asia.

Fresh from his remarkable reverse heel hook victory over Team Lakay’s Kevin Belingon at One FC 3: War of the Lions, The master of leglocks will once again face another dangerous fighter in Leandro Issa.

The native of Ubataba, Sao Paolo, Brazil, Leandro “Brodinho” Issa is definitely taking this fight very seriously as this challenge will surely be his toughest to date. Issa is coming off from a unanimous decision victory over South Korean mma phenom, Soo Chul Kim at One FC 1: War of the Lions.

This fight is hard to call, it is not a jiu-jitsu fight; but I am giving the advantage to the much experienced fighter in Imanari. But Issa can definitely pull up an upset by utilizing his much improved striking game. I have seen Issa sharpens his muay thai skills at Evolve MMA with the best muay thai world champions in the world. I think Issa is the more complete fighter at this moment. This is ONE FC and you need a great all around game to win here. But again, Imanari has proven again and again over the past years that once he get to hold your heel or toe, it’s either you’ll tap or he’ll break it.

Another explosive fight has been added for ONE FC 4: Destiny of Warriors. Eddie “The Magician” Ng looks to continue his One FC domination by facing the surging French fighter, Arnaud “The Game” Lepont.

Lepont is currently riding a 5-fight win streak with notable wins over Krzystof Hajtalowic and Jian Kai Chee. Lepont isn’t your typical brawler; he is technical and methodical within the cage. He is able to mentally take his opponents off their game and enforce his style of fight

There’s no question about Eddie Ng being one of the best lightweights in Asia. A 5-1 record as a professional mma fighter is great for any fighter, but Eddie hasn’t fought the level of competition Arnaud has. Eddie’s last fight against Jian Kai Chee showed that he really has evolved into a much complete fighter. Eddie will surely bring his “A” game against Lepont.

This has “Fight of the Night” written all over it! Two of the top lightweights in Asia will go toe to toe to see who has the best overall game between the two great fighters. The poster boy for ONE FC, Eddie Ng will put his perfect ONE FC record on the line against the always entertaining Arnaud “The Game” Lepont.

Another BJJ phenom will compete at the highly awaited One Fighting Championsip 4: Destiny of Warriors as Gregor Gracie looks to earn his second straight One FC win over Malaysia’s own, Adam Kayoom.

Since returning to full time MMA in 2010, Gracie has not only dedicated himself to becoming the best mixed martial artist he can be, he’d done it in impressive fashion. A very accomplished BJJ practicioner, Gracie will surely showcase his insane ground game against Adam Kayoom.

Adam Kayoom is a solid all around Mixed Martial Artist with noteable wins over Peter Hickmott and Seok Mo Kim. He has shown that he is able to take the fight to the ground and puncher or elbows, and also has an incredible BJJ game.

Both fighters have huge potential within the welterweight division. They are both strong fighters with loads of talent. It will be interesting how this fight unfolds; Kayoom has yet to face the caliber of Gregor.

This has the potential to be and edge-of-your-seat battle from start to finish. Both are highly-conditioned, with Gregor having the edge in BJJ and elbow and knee strikes and Adam being close behind in those areas but the stronger of the two.

Partial fight card for ONE FC 4: Destiny of Warriors

Main Event: Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Tatsuya Mizuno

Co-main event: Masakazu “Ashikan Judan” vs. Leandro “Brodinho” Issa

Eddie “The Magician” Ng vs. Arnaud “The Game” Lepont

A Star Is Born – Eddie Ng is the future of Asian MMA

Eddie “The Magician” Ng continues to amaze fight fans with his very strong ground and pound game by smothering his opponent, Jiang Kai Chi last Saturday at One FC 3: War of the Lions with heavy punches from the mount position forcing the referee, Matt Hume to stop the contest after 43 seconds of the very first round. Eddie Ng won the match without getting hit. Kai Chi never had the chance to hit Eddie, (Yes, you heard it right) not even with a single flick. What a dreadful night for Jian Kai Chee.

Eddie is well known for his self-taught BJJ, but just like his teammate, Zoro Moreira, this kid has also evolved into a scary striker with a vicious ground and pound in his arsenal. Got to give credits to Chatri and to those muay thai champions that trains and teaches at Evolve MMA in Singapore.

Eddie’s first fight in ONE FC

Perhaps it is still early to say this, but I consider Eddie as the Asia’s “GnP Prince” because of the fact that both of his wins inside One FC cage were first round ground and pound TKO and KO in just less than a minute. I mean, this fighter is young, hungry and very athletic inside the cage, so watch out for this kid because he got all the tools to be a mma world champion in the near future.

Eddie’s Vs. Jian Kai Chee (One FC 3)

The 26-year old BJJ blue belt under Renzo Gracie is currently an Assistant Instructor at Evolve Mixed Martial Arts. He has over 12 years of Mixed Martial Arts experience. A professional MMA fighter with a 5-1 record, he is a Total Combat Champion and currently competes for ONE Fighting Championship, Asia’s largest and most prestigious MMA event.  He is also a 2x Revolution No Gi Submissions Champion. Eddie competes on ONE Fighting Championship and is a member of the Evolve Fight Team. He is also an expert at strength and conditioning.
