Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) adds another world-class fighter to its ultra-competitive bantamweight division as they signed Japanese MMA veteran Masanori Kanehara (22-10-5).
Kanehara is undoubtedly one of Japan’s best bantamweights. He has notable wins over Michihiro Omigawa, Nirofumi Yamamoto and UFC featherweight contender Chan Sung “Korean Zombie” Jung.
PXC CEO and Promoter, E.J Calvo, said, “Masanori is arguably the best Japanese fighter not yet in the UFC, and a beast at 135 pounds. We are extremely excited about his PXC debut coming up soon…and expect big things from him.”
The former Sengoku featherweight champion is set to make his PXC debut on August 9 in Guam for the much-anticipated PXC 38. Though his opponent is yet to be determined, a lot of fight fans around Asia are excited to see the very skilled Japanese fighter make his first appearance inside the PXC cage.
The Tokyo native Kanehara currently rides a five-fight winning streak including his TKO win over PXC fighter Tony Reyes and his submission win over Wade Choate at DEEP 62 – IMPACT.
Kanehara is a massive bantamweight and with him is an arsenal full of new tricks, a 9-year MMA experience, and a well-rounded game.
This guy can knock anybody out with his crisp striking game and can tap whoever he fights using his very intimidating ground skills. Other bantamweights in his division should fear this guy because he is no doubt, the most experienced and one of the tougest in the PXC’s 135 lbs. division.
Japanese MMA fighters are proven to be some of the toughest dudes in the fight business. Their approach to the game is incomparable and their Samurai spirit always drive them to the top.
So far, Japanese fighters are successful in their stint inside the PXC cage. Chuji Kato, Takumi Nakayama and Michinori Tanaka are doing exceptionally great in representing JMMA in the Guam-based MMA promotion. Kanehara looks to continue the winning streak for the Japanese fighters as he is ready to make his presence felt in the PXC cage.
PXC 38 is set on August 9, 2013, in Guam. Their 38th installment will also feature a clash between two of the deadliest flyweight fighters as Filipino knockout artist Euguene Toquero battles the most successful Thai MMA fighter today, Rambaa Somdet.
