Sh*t happens in the fight business.
PXC officials announced today that the reigning Featherweight champion, Joe Taimanglo (17-4-1) got injured while training with UFC bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz, which cancels his scheduled PXC interim bantamweight title on February 16th against Michinori Tanaka (6-0) and loses a shot for a second PXC belt.
“Taimanglo’s injury was definitely unexpected but it happens in this business. We wish him a speedy recovery. We will continue to move forward and give PXC fans great matchups. Michinori Tanaka will stay busy with PXC and will move to our March 8th event in Guam, fighting newly-signed Bantamweight, Caleb “The Original” Vallotton (3-1), hailing from Reign MMA in California. Vallotton is a training partner of UFC star Mark Munoz, one of the top Middleweights in the world,” said EJ Calvo, PXC CEO and Promoter.
“The Orginal” has won his last 3 of his four fights, two by way of unanimous decision and the other’s via submission (Kimura). Vallotton is an ultra-tough fighter who is also packed with serious power on both of his hands and the fact that he is training with “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Munoz, you can expect a high-level wrestling game from the 23-year-old fighter. Vallotton is not going to be a walk in the park for the Shooto champ, Tanaka.
This is a very intriguing match-up between submission artist, Tanaka faces a very dangerous foe in Vallotton.
Calvo further exclaimed, “We are confident that our next 2 shows will continue drawing bigger crowds. Fans will enjoy watching their favorite PXC fighters and get a chance to see new stars from across the globe! Our fight cards are one of the best in the industry, matching some of the most skilled fighters against each other as they climb the rankings.”
