PXC’s Official Press Release:

PXC (Pacific X-treme Combat), the Asia-Pacific’s premier Mixed Martial Arts organization, prepares for continued growth in 2013 with the signing of 5 of Hawaii’s top MMA prospects and teammates from 808 Fight Factory, including Zane Kamaka, Ian Dela Cuesta, Nate Quiniola, Shayne Biven, and PXC’s first ever female MMA fighter, Kailan Curran. These fighters join other top Hawaiian fighters already competing in PXC, including Dustin Kimura (9-0), Russel Doane (8-1), Louis Smolka (2-0), and current Lightweight Champ, Harris Sarmiento (35-24).

Zane Kamaka (4-0) is one of Hawaii’s top Welterweights with a recent appearance on UFC’s Ultimate Fighter season 13.  Standing at 6’1″ and wieghing 170lbs, Kamaka is focused on making a run at the PXC championship in 2013 against other prospects from Guam, Japan, China, South Korea, and the Philippines. PXC’s Welterweight belt is currently vacated by Korean Top Team’s Hyun Gyu Lim, who will soon be making his UFC debut in Japan on March 3rd. Lim was signed by The UFC within days of winning the PXC Title in Guam a couple months ago.

Nate “Da Great” Quinola (3-1) is a Featherweight expected to make an instant impact in what many consider PXC’s most competitive division.  Quinola stands 5 foot 11 inches, and is ready to put his record up against the best PXC has to offer.

Ian Dela Questa (6-3) is an experienced Bantamweight with knock-out power, while undefeated Flyweight Shayne Biven (1-0) will cause interesting matchups in 2013 and also ready to reach contender status in PXC’s busy Flyweight division.

Kailan Curran is PXC’s 1st ever female MMA fighter to sign to compete professionally in the near future. Curran fights at 115 pounds and already has won an amateur MMA championship before turning pro with PXC.

According to PXC CEO, E.J. Calvo, “When the decision was made to showcase female fighters in PXC competition, we knew we had to recruit young fighters that would compete at extremely high levels and impress upon fans that they deserve the opportunity. Kailan has shown great potential in her young career, and we anticipate announcing several new female fighters in the near future from the US, China & Japan, as well as other markets.”

Calvo added, “We produced 6 very successful PXC events in 2012, and already have plans for 8 in 2013, with potential for several more. Our talented PXC roster of fighters will consistently be given great opportunities and if they are signed to The UFC, we will not have a problem recruiting the future stars of the sport.”

Over the years, PXC has featured some of the best MMA talent from the Hawaiian islands, including UFC fighters Eddie “The Filipino Phenom” Yagin & Wesley “Cabbage” Correira…as well as successful MMA veterans including Ross “Da Boss” Ebanez, “Iron” Mike Aina, & Eban Kaneshiro.
