Mark Striegl to Ev Ting: “You won’t be able to catch me with a lucky punch”

Seven days before Legend FC 7, Mark Striegl received a bad news from Legend officials that his scheduled opponent Choi Yeong Gwang sustained an injury during his training. This is the second time that Choi’s name will be scratched in Legend FC card due to sudden injury.

Stepping in for Choi’s place is Ev Ting, a fighter from Auckland, New Zealand with a professional mma record of 3-0. Coming off from his impressive TKO win 1 week ago against Will Chope, Ev Ting is all fired to make his Legend FC debut against a very dangerous Featherweight prospect from Philippines, Mark Striegl.

Ev Ting

MMAOrient had the chance to interview Mark Striegl on what’s his point of view with regards to Choi’s injury and to his new foe, Ev Ting.

MMAOrient: Legend FC announced today that your scheduled opponent Choi Yeong Gwang sustained an injury during his training and stepping in for him is Ev Ting, a fighter from Auckland, New Zealand. Tell us how you feel about this very recent changes in your upcoming Legend FC fight on February 11.

Striegl:

I’m just happy that they found an opponent on such short notice. Ev Ting is New Zealand’s top 145 pound fighter and fans therefore should expect an equally exciting fight.

MMAOrient: With five days away from the fight and with the new opponent coming in, are there any adjustments to be made in connection to your game plan?

Striegl:

Some minor adjustments have to be made, but I’m not really one to believe in game plans. At the end of the day, it’s a fight.

MMAOrient: Ev Ting is coming off a spectacular TKO win against your training partner Will “The Kill” Chope 1 week ago. Aside from your objective to get the W on Saturday, are you also going to try to get a revenge for Will by beating Ev?

Striegl:

Of course. Actually, I was going to suggest Ev Ting to Legend when they were looking for a replacement for Choi…but they suggested him first.

Ev Ting, if you’re reading this…come Saturday night you’re going to find out that you won’t be able to catch me with a lucky punch like you got with Will. One more thing, give me ev-ting you got bro!
