Cage Fighting Championship 19: FALCIROLI vs HONSTEIN

Cage Fighting Championship 19, Friday December 9 at Luna Park’s Big Top Stadium. This is the final event in the 2011 season. The main event features a Bantamweight World Title fight between defending Champion Gustavo Falciroli and “Quick” Nick Honstein.

It was CFC 12 March 2010, Brazilian born Gustavo Falciroli (10-3-2) dominated and defeated “Bra Boy” Richie Vas over the 5 rounds of their title fight to become the first CFC Bantamweight champion. A division that America’s Nick Honstein (12-4) known as “Quick” Nick has launched himself at since moving to Sydney in August 2010, winning 2 local titles (Tuffa and Brace for War) by taking on some of Australia’s best young fighters. Gustavo has welcomed the chance to defend his title and prove he is still the champion; both guys are black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and have explosive striking and wrestling.

“The Hulk” Soa Palelei (12-3) makes his debut on CFC. The Heavyweight who has fought in the UFC and Pride FC faces “Superman” Matt Walker (3-6). Walker an experienced Jiu Jitsu fighter from Queensland’s Gold Coast is one of the biggest opponents Soa has faced standing 196cms.
Robert Whittaker returns to fight Queenslander Ian Bone. With two back to back ‘fight of the night’ awards, Whittaker is fast becoming the rising star in Aussie MMA and Ian Bone will use all of his experience to try and stop the young gun and forge his way back to the top of the welterweight division.
